Commission Structure for Operators

Last updated: May 12, 2026

⚠️ Important: Commission is owed to BidPounce on every successful booking. The rate you choose affects your refund rights.

Two Commission Tiers

💰

e.g. 10% Commission

Non-Refundable Rate

⚠️ Commission is ALWAYS owed
  • ✅ Lower commission
  • ❌ No refund of commission for any reason
  • ❌ Weather cancellations? You still owe commission
  • ❌ Maintenance issues? You still owe commission
  • ❌ Customer no-show? You still owe commission (if you collect payment)
Best for: High-confidence bookings, peak season, operators willing to accept cancellation risk.
🛡️

e.g. 20% Commission

Refundable Rate

✅ Commission refundable for approved cancellations
  • ✅ Higher commission
  • ✅ Refund for Weather (WX) cancellations
  • ✅ Refund for Maintenance (MX) cancellations
  • ✅ Refund for TFR or National Disaster
Best for: Off-season bookings, unpredictable weather, customers wanting peace of mind.

How Cancellation & Refund Works (20% Tier)

Two-Step Cancellation Process

  1. Operator initiates cancellation – Select reason (Weather/Maintenance) and certify it’s true
  2. Customer must confirm – Customer receives notification and must log in to confirm the same reason
  3. Commission is refunded – Only after BOTH parties certify the cancellation reason
⚠️ Important: If the customer does NOT confirm the cancellation, commission is NOT refunded. Encourage customers to log in and confirm.

What Happens If a Customer No-Shows?

  1. Operator reports no-show within 3 days of tour time
  2. BidPounce attempts to charge customer’s saved card
  3. If charge succeeds: Funds held for 30 days, then released to operator (minus commission)
  4. If charge fails or customer disputes: Operator may need to pursue payment directly
⚠️ Note: Customers may dispute charges through their credit card company. BidPounce will defend valid charges but cannot guarantee recovery.
